http://nta.accademiadiurbino.it/palinsesta is a project of the VMD II course of the Academy of Fine Arts of Urbino realized during the Art Direction course in the second semester held by prof. Emilio Macchia.
𝑝𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑎 is an online platform dedicated to research projects that investigate specific issues identified annually in response to contemporary changes and circumstances. The 2020 edition will explore internet culture through a selection and analysis of practices created by users of social networks and related universes. My submission analyzes gaming and its trends in the contemporary scene, thank you for the support Francisco Manuel Macía Varela
I developed a short narrative video game that reflects on the state of the game, which increasingly seems to have more elements and more similarities with the concept of “labor”.
If games had no purpose, would they still be games?
The project also analyzes the temporary condition of the average gamer, in most cases precarious or unemployed. To do this I bought a service from a guy on Fiverr.com who offered to make “gameplay video” and “let’s play video” of any video game, sending him the executable of my personal demo.
Among all these elements, I believe there is a showcase to reflect on our contemporary digital world: gaming is just a starting point, an excuse, a game.
